Scientists estimate that over the last four decades Florida’s indigenous corals have declined by 90% with some species losing as much as 97% of their populations. Florida’s Coral Reef Tract is on the brink, plagued by rising water temperatures, increased acidification, and a disease outbreak that threaten to become an extinction level event if left unchecked.

Recognizing the urgency of the threat, the non-profit organization FORCE BLUE launched mission named PROJECT PROTECT. Over the next three years (2019-2021), FORCE BLUE, will move all of their operations to South Florida to teamed up with Florida's DEP and Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary to help in the fight for these precious ecosystems. 

DREGOS was tasked with developing a mark for the mission that is easily identifiable and can be used for future deployments with similar priorities. Our goal was to make a bold mark with a strong visual impact. We wanted to highlight our connection to the water and create a call to action.
